This report is a compendium of activities for the month of October. It presents key
performance indicators of the sample transport system implemented by CRIHSS Foundation in the Adamawa Region during October 2022. It also shows the challenges and proposes solutions to address them.
Introduction
In order to contribute to the achievement of the three 95's i.e. (at least 95% of People Living with HIV know their status, 95% of PLWHIV are in care and 95% of those in care have an undetectable viral load), one of the measures taken by the Cameroonian Government and implemented by the Ministry of Public Health since January 1, 2020 and December 2, 2021, was the free provision of some key services of care and support to PLWHIV.
Thus, in addition to the free rapid test for all populations, all PLWHIV in Cameroon would benefit from free medical consultations, prenatal consultations including booklets; prenatal check-up for women (Blood Count, Creatinemia/Albuminuria, Blood Sugar); medical records; biological monitoring tests (CD4 and viral load); early HIV testing for children, among others.
Although the institutional and organizational monitoring of the implementation of this policy is ensured by MINSANTE through its Technical Directorates, the Regional Health Promotion Funds and the Regional Public Health Delegations, responsibility for the transport of samples for viral load and early detection has been assigned to CRIHSS Foundation, which works in collaboration with GHSS and under the supervision of ICAP.
