Monthly Pragmatic Report | North Region | October 2022

Updated: Nov 1, 2023

This monthly report is a compilation of all our weekly reports of the month. It presents a summary of the results of key deliverables from SRS activities implemented by the CRIHSS Foundation in the North Region for the month of October 2022, focusing on the trends observed. It provides updates on the overall performance and details on the challenges and mitigation strategies implemented. Other than the routine performance notes, this report highlights key activities we conducted within the month. Some of these activities include the setup and rollout of community SRS planning meetings in the North and also work sessions with the regional team, Sessions with CF field agents to review their performance, discuss their challenges, and train them on how to document data on the sample chain of custody.

Introduction

In the month of October 2022, we completed 33 trips and visited 22 sites in the process providing services to 22 out of the 29 supported sites. Our services align on the availability of samples, results, or other health supplies and in this reporting period, we transported 538 samples (492 VL, 38 DBS-EID,2 plasma PCR, and 6 trace) and 707 results (701VL and 6EID results). There is a marked increase in the number of EID samples and results transported. Trends in sample transportation can serve as an indicator of performance for a given health facility and or the entire service delivery cascade.

With an acceptable TAT of one week, we transported all available samples from sites to the secondary hub (HRG) and then to the reference lab (CPC-AG) for processing. In terms of VL sample collection, the top 2 hubs based on the absolute numbers of samples transported are Centre Medical de la Surete National and HD Guider (52 and 63 VL samples respectively).

Further, we highlight that less than 40% of the facilities had no samples for transportation. Find attached a full report below.
