Sample Transport Quarterly Report October - December 2020 (CRIHSS Foundation)

Updated: Aug 28, 2021

Access to laboratory services for PLWHIV (particularly rVLT and EID) in the East region is still very centralized. Patients continue to rely heavily on sample transport arrangements.

Forest wildfire

In the last 6 months we have seen a decreasing trend in the number of samples transported Maybe as result of one or a combination of the factors below:

  • Drop in demand and or or number samples collected

  • Most patients already had their VLT ?

  • Impact of COVID 19 ?

However during this quarter, we continued with the delivery of our services :

  • Transportation of VL and EID samples and results.

  • Delivery of DTS panels for HIV rapid testing (FIRST TIME).

  • All 19 GU sites were visited (≥ 1 trip per site).

  • Two non-GU sites (Garoua Boulai and CSI Ndokayo) benefitted from our services.

  • We had STS transactions during all 03 months Oct - Dec and completed a total of 317 trips (258 for samples, 59 results).
