The Domains We Intervene In

Lab Sample Transport

CRIHSS Foundation operates a network to collect, transport, and return lab samples from health facilities daily, ensuring timely results and quality assurance in sample handling and documentation.

Lab Quality Management

Training staff in QA implementation, and internal QA systems, conducting external audits, managing PT panels, and ensuring accurate documentation for HIV testing and viral load monitoring.

HIV Epidemic Control

We enhance community monitoring of HIV/TB services, use community health workers and CBOs for case tracking and support, mobilize pregnant women for ANC, and dispense ARVs in communities.

Research & Innovation

Conducting operational research in health and social sciences, implementing research projects, baseline assessments, evaluations, external audits, and HIV/TB surveillance.

HIV/TB Service Delivery

We employ ethical HIV case-finding, personalized ART linkage and retention models, timely monitoring, side effect tracking, and patient education to achieve high viral load suppression and combat stigma.

Since our inception, we have reached significant milestones, transforming the healthcare landscape in rural areas through our dedicated lab sample transport service. Our journey is marked by unwavering commitment and remarkable achievements:

Founding and Initial Outreach (Year 1-2)

We began with a small team of passionate individuals determined to improve healthcare access in rural communities. Within the first two years, we established a reliable network of transporters and partnered with local health centers, ensuring timely collection and delivery of lab samples.

Impact On Rural Communities

Our services have positively impacted thousands of lives. By reducing the turnaround time for lab results, patients receive faster diagnoses and treatments. This promptness has been crucial in managing infectious diseases, chronic conditions, and emergency cases in underserved areas.

Statistics

CRIHSS has transported 225,560 lab samples, with 141,908 results returned. Over 75% of the samples are VL, collected from 166 health facilities. The samples are transported to labs for testing and then shipped to POC and conventional sites. In total, 3,000 trips have been made.

Expansion and Network Building (Year 3-Present):

As our operations expanded, we integrated advanced cold chain systems for sample transport, enhancing the quality and accuracy of test results. Our network grew to cover multiple rural regions, significantly increasing the number of health centers we support.

Digital Breakthrough

Embracing technological innovations, we introduced digital tracking systems for samples, allowing real-time updates for healthcare providers and patients. This transparency has further boosted trust and efficiency in our operations.
